Hyatt Place San Diego/Vista-Carlsbad

Nice value for the money! Room was clean and well kept. Our room location (4th floor) was quiet and the layout was great. The fold out couch and privacy wall created a two room space in just one room. Nice set up for our family of 4. Fridge was big enough to stock up with drinks and hold leftovers during our stay, and the microwave was a plus. Housekeeping was tricky to figure out at first. A few of the days we requested service it didn't happen, but once I talked to the front desk it was taken care of per our request. Pool was well maintained but we typically had to ask the front desk for towels. There was a soccer tournament and those guests really impacted the other guests in a negative way. Lucky they were only in town for two nights because they took over the pool and DESTROYED the breakfast buffet. Best to hit the breakfast early if you stay. Food is great, but it was hard for the kitchen staff to keep up with hot food demand when a lot of guests were partaking. The gym was awesome! Not crowded and enough to get a nice workout in. I'd stay again for sure!

Unfriendly and unhelpful front desk weekend day staff. Rest of staff very polite and engaging. Asked front desk several times for the basic cleaning that we are promised at check in and that we signed up for. They never came. 5 days and they emptied the trash once. Supplied us with 2 bath towels and that was it. Didn't replace hand towels, we had overflowing trash, ran out of toilet paper and clean coffee mugs. Again, we signed up for the basic service and asked the front desk several times. Cleaning service staff and other staff members extremely warm and welcoming.

First time visiting. A solid 4 stars hotel. But I bumped it down because of the room. We had a king size suite which was comfortable and spacious. But the bathroom had a bad odor coming from the toilet which was a huge turnoff for me. The hotel service was great, lots of free parking in their parking lot and breakfast was really yummy. I’ll definitely return and I highly recommend.

Lobby smelled like marijuana when we walked in, and the host was busy playing bartender and chatting it up with patrons who couldn’t decide between an old fashioned and a glass of wine. We chose this hotel for the price and proximity to legoland, but now it makes sense why it was so cheap. Definitely not the Hyatt quality we are used to.

The hotel's two entrances are a bit awkward to find the front. One you do, parking is around the hotel in a rectangle. The hotel staff was polite and helpful. I did ask for extra bedding three times, once in the morning and twice in the evening. They said they knocked, but somehow I missed them? My friend wanted to go in the hot tub and called ahead to see the hours as they were not posted on the website. We were so looking forward to it and there was a tattered paper sign that the jets were out. It would have been great if the front desk had told us that to begin with. The pool and hot tub looked a bit off to me in color and cloudiness and I did not get in. The hotel breakfast had lots of fruit, oatmeal, eggs?, sausage, potatoes, coffee, the premade hotel stuff. Everything looked pretty clean. There are some late night restaurants open nearby. It was one of the energy efficient kinds, so you put your card in. Our view was of the rooftop and freeway, but we did not hear it. It was dark and comfortable. The ice machine was helpful.

Very good Bfast service, rooms are to be expected and they have everything you would reasonably need. Great location, close to legoland, close to outlet malls and cool/delicious windmill food hall. Pool is a little dinky, but you don’t go to California for a hotel pool! Elevator call button was finicky but as long as you’re not brain dead, you will manage to figure it out. Overall, met/exceeded expectations for the price point.

Worst service. For the price and name you think you would receive better. When I checked in from my online reservation there was a lady who was working she got left there by another employee. The lady was my only positive experience. She was able to get me into a room even though whoever was working with her left her by herself. The next day I went to the snack bar to grab food and the guy working started hassling me about my dog. He was like did you pay to have your dog here. I said yes I checked in last night and was charged already. He was incredibly rude and disrespectful. I could tell his coworker could tell and he gave me me a complimentary salad and beer . I just can not let it go because I have never experienced that kind of harassment at what supposed to be a nice hotel. I went there for shelter during the tropical storm because I thought it would be a nice,safe and positive experience. He went on to ask me to re-sign paperwork I informed him I had already signed online. Then he went on to tell me I shouldn't have stayed in the 2nd floor because pets stay on the 1st floor. I'm sorry but it's not my fault your staff put me in that room. I cannot believe how incredibly disrespectful he was. Then he walked away and I could hear him badmouthing me. We stayed at the hotel for only one night. The booking was made through the official legoland website. One of the worst hotels in my life. The hotel is disgusting. Stuff is incompetent, they work terribly. I Was charged for what I didn't use. I called to clarify what they made me pay for and did not get any clear information. This is called stealing. The rooms are old and poorly cleaned. I strongly do not recommend it. I would give minus 5 stars if it were possible.
